Daily Personal Prayers

The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.

The Glory Be

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.

Amen

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayer to the Archangel St. Michael

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.

The Salve Regina

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee d o we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thineeyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
V. Make me worthy to praise thee, holy Virgin.
R. Give me strength against thine enemies.
V. Blessed be God in His saints.
R. Amen.

Prayer Before and After Mass

Offering of the Mass
Accept, O most Holy Trinity, this sacrifice enacted once by the divine Word, which is now renewed on this altar through the hands of your priest. I unite myself to the intentions of Jesus Christ, Priest and Victim, that I may be consumed for Your glory and for the salvation of all human beings. I intend through Jesus Christ, with Jesus Christ, in Jesus Christ, to adore Your eternal Majesty, to thank Your immense goodness, to satisfy Your offended justice, and to beg for Your mercy for the Church, for my dear ones and for myself. Amen.

To Appreciate the Mass
O Lord Jesus, in order that the merits of Your sacrifice on the cross might be applied to every soul of all time, You willed that it should be renewed upon the altar. At the Last Supper, You said: "Do this in remembrance of Me." By these words, You gave Your apostles and their successors the power to consecrate and the command to do what You Yourself did.
I believe that the Mass is both a sacrifice and a memorial--reenacting Your passion, death, and resurrection. Help me to realize that the Mass is the greatest gift of God to us and our greatest gift to God. Amen.

Prayer After Mass
O Lord Jesus Christ, let Your passion be my strength to sustain, guard, and protect me. Let Your wounds be my food and drink to nourish, fill, and invigorate me. Let the shedding of Your Blood cleanse me of all my sins. Let Your death obtain eternal life for me and Your cross lead me to everlasting glory. Let these constitute for me refreshment and joy, health and uprightness of heart. Amen.

Thanksgiving After Mass
I adore You present in my heart, O incarnate Word, only Son and splendor of the Father, born of Mary. I thank You, sole Master and Truth by essence, for Your immense goodness in coming to me, an ignorant person and a sinner. With Mary, I offer You to the Father: through You, with You, in You, may there be eternal praise, thanksgiving, and supplication for peace among people. Enlighten my mind; render me a docile disciple of the Church; grant that I may live by faith; give me an understanding of the Scriptures. Make me Your ardent apostle. Let the light of Your Gospel, O divine Master, shine on the farthest bounds of the world. Amen.

Be merciful, O Jesus, and spare us.
Be merciful, O Jesus, and hear us.

From the abuse of this day which we are commanded to keep holy, Preserve us, O Lord.
From sloth and indevotion, Preserve us, O Lord.
From neglect of prayer, and of Thy Sacred Word, Preserve us, O Lord.
From all occasions of misspending this day, Preserve us, O Lord.

That we may this day be so strengthened in our faith as to bend our whole endeavors upon seeking those eternal goods which faith has taught us to obtain, We beseech Thee, hear us.
That Thy Holy Spirit would this day take possession of our hearts, and so confirm us in every duty that no earthly considerations may be able to prevail against us to the transgression of Thy law, We beseech Thee, hear us.
That we may this day join with the Church Triumphant in praising, adoring and praying to Thee, and preparing our souls to celebrate with them an eternal Sabbath, We beseech Thee, hear us.
That we may not give this day to earth or to self -love, but may offer it to Thee, We beseech Thee, hear us.
Who art our only everlasting Good, We beseech Thee, hear us.
Son of God, Who hast forever hallowed this day, We beseech Thee, hear us.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
Let Us Pray:
O God, the Protector of all who hope in Thee and without Whom nothing can have either strength or holiness, multiply Thy mercy, we beseech Thee, upon us, that Thou being our Ruler and our Guide, we may so pass through the goods of this life as not to lose those which are eternal. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Anima Christi - Prayer After Receiving the Holy Communion

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds, hide me.
Separated from Thee let me never be.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
At the hour of death, call me.
To come to Thee, bid me,
That I may praise Thee in the company
Of Thy Saints, for all eternity. Amen
